Speed Beep is a control panel extension for all Macintoshes running System 6.0.2 or greater. It is fully System 7 compatible and works fine with virtual memory or 32 bit addressing turned on.
Speed Beep allows you to keep using your Macintosh while a beep sound is playing. This is obviously especially helpful if you use longer beep sounds, but it also eliminates the delay you encounter when a number of short beeps play in a row. Speed Beep also gives you random beeps with a variety of configurable settings, and can allow 2 or more beeps to play at the same time on some Macintoshes.
To install Speed Beep, drag the file named “Speed Beep” onto your CLOSED System Folder icon. Press “OK” if the Macintosh tells you that control panels need to be placed in the Control Panels folder.
Complete online documentation is available by opening the Speed Beep control panel and clicking the Help button.
